John Lee Sanders stands tall. He’s major.  In his own words, he’s hitched a ride from Memphis, dealing with the ghosts of Highway 61,arriving in New Orleans in order to comfort us with the good news: that true music is truer than ever.
His songs, full-bodied and blood-washed, are rooted in reality. He reminds us that blues are concerned with neither nostalgia nor
self-pity. John Lee Sanders’ blues are about nothing less a renewal of strength, a resurrection of the human spirit, a projection of hard-earned hope and a declaration of extravagant love.

"I am converted! I love, love, loved it - your voice is straight from heaven.  Your Christmas carols sound so amazing!!! Bought a CD last night,  will download some of your Christmas music, Hallelujah!  Wishing you and your family joy, peace and endless happiness."
Catherine MacKay,  White Rock, BC

Jazzeit Magazine, of Vienna Austria wrote recently “This is exactly what it sounds like when Blues is allowed to be fun. A listening joy from the first number to the last. John Lee Sanders is not only a first rate singer/songwriter, but also a pianist and saxophonist and overall, it seems, a specialist for all that is sophisticated musicianship and entertainment.”
The Great musicians in the show have recorded and toured with John Lee Sanders
across Canada since 2005, and appear in his double disc CD, "Live At Rock Beach

Prepare to be spellbound by the rhythmic vocal talent of jazz and blues singer/songwriter, Sibel Thrasher. This well-known Vancouver artist has been performing for several years in both the music and theatre scene. Once named ‘Entertainer of The Year” by the Vancouver Sun, the singer has recorded with well-known artists such as The Platters, Long John Baldry, Rocket Norton, and Donna Summers. From 1984-1994, Sibel performed in the popular jazz broadway musical “Ain’t Misbehavin’.” This production showcased the music of jazz singer Fats Waller which fused ragtime and the big band sound.

Gary Comeau & The Voodoo Allstars.. Blues For Christmas @ The Commodore Ballroom Dec 19_10
Gary Comeau
Take the rhythm of the Maritime Acadian music, season well with Louisiana zydeco blues, add a twist of Highway 61 era Dylan, serve it up with great showmanship, and you’ve got a potent musical cocktail that will have your head spinning and your feet dancing!  (Island Folks Festival)
Gary Comeau is a singer-songwriter and musician of unusual diversity and talent.
Playing a range of instruments including guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and piano he delivers originally crafted, high energy, New Orleans-style rockin' roots and blues.  Although Gary’s own roots are French-Acadian-he was born and raised in Nova Scotia-- his soul seems to have taken a long and inspiring detour through Louisiana and the Mississippi Delta. And while Gary does not consider himself to be a cajun or zydeco artist per se (“it’s just the vibe that runs through the tunes I write”) he’s probably the most southern-sounding player in town. The Georgia Strait states without hesitation that “Vancouver’s roots-music scene has immensely benefited from Comeau’s presence.”

Chris Nordquist is regarded by many of his peers as one of the greatest drummers ever in the genre. Affectionately nicknamed "The Wrist" many years ago by his admirers, he has performed with countless blues legends, including Big Mama Thornton, Jay McShann, Robert Lockwood Jr., Taj Mahal, Shuggie Otis,  Pine Top Perkins, and John Hammond Jr.. He was featured on the Juno winning album "National Steel" by Colin James and Colin Linden, as well as on recent releases by Long John Baldry, Schuld & Stamer, Kenny Wayne, and Big Dave McLean.

Tim Porter
is one of the most sought after guitarists in Vancouver. As a rock musician, he performed regularly with the popular Vancouver band Brickhouse. He has also worked with a diverse array of other performers including The Canadian Tenors, Long John Baldry, The Powder Blues Band, John Lee Sanders, Joani Bye & the Homewreckers, Jim Byrnes, Dal Richards & Carol Welsman
Dennis marcenko
Performed with Colin James, K.D. Lang Natalie Cole, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Healy, Billy Preston. Keith Richards, Little Feat , Bonnie Raitt, Robert Plant, Steve Winwood, Spinal Tap, and One More Girl

Mike Kalanj
Hammond B-3 “Mike Kalanj’s Hammond organ oozes sweetness”. Read reviews of Mike’s mastery on the Hammond B-3 and you’ll read of a musician who stands out in the musical world of the Blues, Gospel and R&B. Whether kickin’ it up with spirited solos, or providing a solid foundation for singers and bands, Mike is the real musical deal. His artistry on the Hammond will take you from a “mild purr” all the way up to a wicked “overdriven growl.” His understanding and knowledge of the music and how to bring it to life on the one of a kind Hammond B-3 keeps him in constant demand. Mike plays for the Powder Blues Band, Jim Byrnes and played for the late Long John Baldry as well as countless other musicians on stage and in the studio.

I would like to have a band with you for Christmas 2012... what do you think? I love your Christmas CD man!
Vincenzo Barattin, Italian Jazz Blues Festival Promoter

To our sold-out concerts we welcomed our very special guest
John Lee Sanders.  Along with being a fabulous musician, his captivating spirit brought the audiences to their feet at each of our three concerts.  His moving renditions of Sweet Little Jesus Boy, Some Children See Him and O Holy Night along with his original compositions "Christmas with the King" and "Every Heart Comes Home for Christmas" were a hit, with one audience member emailing after the concert to say "It was amazing, and John Lee should be a permanent with y'all."  It felt as if we had been singing and performing together forever.  What a wonderful time we had sharing the spirit of the music and the joy of singing.  We were in gospel music heaven, and when the Spirit moves and connects us, yes my friends, it is always like this..
