World Blue Audio Studio/Production/ History
With a recording career that spans over 3
decades, John Lee Sanders has worked as on
countless recordings as a producer, arranger,
Session player and vocalist. Using his skills as
a visual artist, He has even worked on the
finished product as a graphic designer.
He did his first recording session in Birmingham, Alabama at Boutwell Studios, in 1964, live to 2 track stereo, at age 12, in a session produced by his older Brother Chip Sanders, singing lead with the Ramblers.
During his years in Silicon Valley, CA, he worked with the founders of Pro-tools, in their proto-type in what would become the system that revolutionized digital recording. John Learned production skills from Narada Michael Walden, who took John under his wing in pre-production, and writing sessions Narada went on to produce some of the biggest selling recordings of the 20th century, with Whitney Houston, Mariah Cary, and Aretha Franklin.
As a composer/ producer, his songs have appeared on Grammy and Emmy nominated recordings, and brings this level of production to World Blue Audio. He self produced CD, "Bucket Full of Blues" just won 2 British Columbia Music Awards for Blues Recording of the year, and also Soul/R&B recording of the year for 2009. It was also nominated for a 2009 Western Canada Music Award, for Blues Recording of the Year.
Since moving to the British Columbia Okanagan, he has built a new recording studio in one of the most beautiful parts of the world, overlooking the lakes, vinyards and orchards of this pristine valley.
With an incredible library of virtual sounds and real instruments, John is able to do a complete Album quality production for Singers, Songwriters and multi-media clients. With a high speed internet connection, he has done tracks for major releases worldwide from his studio in BC.
John Lee recorded all of the lead and background vocals for the CD, "Doc Goes Hollywood" at his studio in British Columbia. The tracks were then sent by internet to Al Schmitt, for mixdown. Al is a 15 time Grammy winning engineer, on 150 Gold and Platinum CDs, including Michael Bublé, Diana Krall, Steely Dan and Frank Sinatra. On Doc Goes Hollywood, John was produced and arranged by Tower of Power founding member Doc Kupka, and Hollywood Maestro, William Ross, Arranger/Composer/Producer for David Foster, Michael Jackson, Barbara Streisand, Andrea Bocelli, and the 2007 Academy Awards.
