John Lee Sanders is Rockin' the Rails Again, After 5 Years, Now on the Reno Snow & Fun Train
After a 5 year leave of absence, since my move to British Columbia Canada, I'll be back on the beautiful Reno Snow Train/ Fun Train performing in the Royal Gorge Piano lounge car.
During my years living in the Bay Area, from 2002-2005 I gained so many friends and fans from all over the country performing on this train. It's a great way to see the beautiful Western Landscape and learn the history of the Sierras.
I'll be doing solo piano, and adding some guitar to my performances. It's about a 7 hour journey through the Sierras, so I'll be covering a lot of material over these weeks, My repertoire has grown over my 50 years playing music, so I'll be covering some of the Artists and songwriters I've been infuenced by or performed with over this long history, and Some of the Great Train songs of American Music.
We leave out of Emeryville California, which is between Berkeley and Oakland, on the California Zephyr Route that heads east through Salt Lake, Denver onto Chicago. In the last 5 years I've been playing original music in Performing art centers and festivals, for thousands of people, but in this intimate, setting I'll be doing a variety of genres, and story telling of my long musical journey around the world.
I have such a wide demographic of people coming on the train, that it's a challenge that I look forward to in entertaining this crowd, from Baby Boomers, into Jazz, Blues, Country, Rock Motown, to the Seniors, who dig Sinatra, Elvis, Willie, Johnny Cash, and the Swing Era.
